End-of-Year Awards Given to Seasonal Aquatic Employees

Employees at HFAC

Four seasonal Hilliard employees — three lifeguards and one office aide — are being honored with special end-of-year awards. The seasonal staff members were chosen by their peers through a survey to be recognized for their heart for service, strength in teamwork, and drive for excellence.

Aquatics Supervisor Anastasia Bradley and Aquatics Coordinator Lindsey Dembowski presented the awards at the end of the aquatic season, praising her staff’s dedication and commitment.

“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of our summer staff,” Bradley said. “They play a huge role in providing a fun and safe summer for the community.”

The Heart for Service award was given to Lindsay Stull, who was recognized for her positive attitude and passion for serving the community. On breaks, Lindsay can be found walking around the pool deck tidying the facility and creating relationships with patrons. Whether she is helping answer fellow coworkers’ questions or rating a child’s dive on the diving boards, Lindsay is always willing to lend a helping hand and makes people feel welcome.

Henry Byrne received the Strength in Teamwork award for his willingness to help others and positive attitude. Henry always works to bring staff together and increase morale. He’s known for his “pool polls” that encourage staff bonding. Henry is a lead guard and ensures that he not only enforces rules in his own zone but also assists other lifeguards to gain confidence in enforcing rules in their zone. Henry is a friend to everyone.

The Drive for Excellence award was given to Emory Trout. Emory is the definition of a hard worker. She is always doing whatever it takes to keep the aquatic facilities in tip-top shape. She is consistently one of the first people to step up to do an unpleasant job and is an excellent role model to her peers. Emory is a lead guard and site supervisor and holds others to the same high standard that she holds herself.

Olivia Schmitt received the Hilliard’s Promise award for being the office aide that best exemplified all facets of Hilliard’s promise. Olivia is upbeat and bubbly toward everyone she encounters as an office aide. She takes on any job with a smile on her face. Olivia is excellent at deescalating conflict in a respectful and compassionate way. She truly cares about patrons and coworkers and wants everyone to have a great time, while also prioritizing safety.
