Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a National Day of Service, encouraging all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Honor Dr. King’s legacy and learn how you can make a difference at Hilliard’s annual Heart for Service Volunteer Fair and Community Luncheon at the Hilliard Community/Senior Center.
Available for purchase will be $10 bowls, handmade by Hilliard City School District students, filled with soup (along with a sandwich and a dessert) made by the Kiwanis Club of Hilliard. All proceeds will be donated to the Hilliard Food Pantry.
Additionally, join us in launching two new collaborative kindness projects: A Little Bag of Birthday and No Sew Fleece Blankets. Connect with local non-profit agencies, create art at the Hilliard Arts Council’s pop-up art table, put a piece of the MLK puzzle together, watch a film, enjoy music and a balloon twister, and much more!
Don’t forget to visit Hilliard’s Station Park and reflect on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy as you listen to his “I Have a Dream” speech while perusing quotes and facts about his life and work, on display in the park.
Be the “I” in kind this National Service Day and commit to serving your community.
