Holidays In Hilliard

You may be familiar with Hilliard’s biggest holiday event, Tree Lighting, but did you know we offer a number of holiday and winter-themed programs throughout the winter season?

From “Pancakes and PJs Family Night” to “Sensory Santa,” the City has fabulous, festive, fun options for everyone!

Parent’s Night Out: Nov. 22 and Dec. 13, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Enjoy a worry-free Parent’s Night Out! While you go out, run errands, or do some holiday shopping, kids ages 5 ½ to 11 years old will enjoy a night of camp games, art projects, board games, and more while eating pizza and snacks at the Community Center, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive.

Santa’s Letters: Nov. 25 – Dec.18

The Santa Letters mailbox will once again be delivered to Hilliard’s Station Park near the corner of Main and Center streets. Letters to Santa should include a self-addressed and stamped envelope to receive a return letter from Santa’s Workshop.

Tree Lighting: Dec. 1, 4-6:15 p.m.

Our annual Tree Lighting event will take place at Hilliard’s Station Park, along Main Street, and at the Historical Village at Weaver Park. Bring family and friends to this open event and enjoy ice carving, stilt walkers, face painting, balloon twisting, horse and carriage rides, and much more! Five local youth choirs will give vocal performances at Hilliard’s Station Park beginning at 4:00 p.m., culminating in the lighting of the tree and presentation of the Ohio Magazine Best Hometown Award at 6:15 p.m.

Sensory Santa: Dec. 7, 12:30-4 p.m.

Santa will be available to visit with kiddos who may need a quieter, sensory-friendly environment. He has a very tight schedule but has reserved time for this important visit. Registrants can sign up for one 10-minute time slot so that Santa can visit with as many friends as possible. This event will take place at the HSC, 3810 Veterans Memorial Drive.

Ornament Party (Youth): Dec. 11, 6-7:30 p.m.

Join us for a crafty ornament party! Children ages 6 to 11 years old can create one-of-a-kind decorations that double as thoughtful gifts for family members, teachers, and friends. This holiday tradition will take place at the HSC.

Ornament Party (Preschool): Dec. 13, 10-11:30 a.m.

Bring your little one along for a fun Ornament Party with other preschool friends! Parents and kids 3 to 5 years old can create fun decorations in the HSC Craft Room. These ornaments double as thoughtful gifts for loved ones.

Pancakes and PJs Family Night: Dec. 13, 6-7:30 p.m.

Bring the whole family for this breakfast-for-dinner extravaganza! Come dressed in your best pajamas and enjoy a stack of delicious pancakes, a craft, and a hot cocoa bar at the HSC. All ages welcome.

Ice, Ice Cookies: Dec. 18, 6-7:30 p.m.

Join us at the HSC for a night of festive cookie decorating! Kids ages 6-11 years old can transform sugar cookies into delicious treats ready to share with loved ones.

Cookie Creations: Dec. 20, 10-11:30 a.m.

Make, bake, and take sugar cookies in festive holiday shapes! Parents can drop off their child, ages 3-5 years old, at the Community Center for an exciting experience decorating delicious holiday cookies.

Candy Cane Hunt: Dec. 21, 3-4:30 p.m.

Join the festivities as we hunt for Santa’s scattered candy canes around the Community Center! Kids ages 6-11 years old will get creative with a seasonal craft, hunt for delicious candy canes, then finish off the event with treats, Christmas stories, and a fun photo-op alongside Santa’s elves.
