The City of Hilliard has many events planned for summer 2024! Look forward to your favorite returning events such as Freedom Fest, Celebration at the Station, and Sprouts Night Out. Get excited for some new events such as Bring the Zoo to You and Parent Recharge.

Happening in May

Eggsperiment Community Drop

Friday, May 3 – 6-8 p.m.
Municipal Park near Hilliard Family Aquatic Center

Hatch a plan to “egg”ineer a contraption to drop from the Norwich Township Fire Department ladder truck with COSI. See if your egg will survive. All materials and other egg-themed activities are provided.

Touch A Truck

Friday, May 10, 10 a.m.-noon
Wayne & Center streets parking lot

Climb, touch, and take a photo with the trucks you see daily in the community. Decorate your own helmet and enjoy inflatables, Paw Patrol strolling character, Norwich Township fire truck, Hilliard police cruiser, tow trucks, semi, and more!

Bring the Zoo to You

Sunday, May 19 – 4-6 p.m
Britton Farms Park

Columbus Zoo animal and character ambassadors will provide up-close interactions and education. A craft, face painting, and balloon twisters will be provided.

Chalk the Park

Tuesday, June 18 – 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Darby Glen Park

Get artistic and help us create a pathway of color with a local chalk artist. Chalk, yard games, and music will be provided.

Juneteenth

Wednesday, June 19 – 9-11 a.m.
Municipal Park Amphitheater

Celebrate freedom in the City of Hilliard during this important holiday. Enjoy live music, a community art project, and “walk and read” The Juneteenth Story, written by Alliah Agostini Livingstone, illustrated by Sawyer Cloud, and published by Quarto Books US.

Celebrate Independence Day with live country music from Big & Rich, food trucks, Kids Zone inflatables and games, chalk art, stilt walkers, and one of Central Ohio’s biggest fireworks shows.

Independence Day Parade (Hosted by Franklin County Fair Board)

Thursday, July 4 – 9 a.m.

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. from the Franklin County Fairgrounds and travels through Downtown Hilliard.

Magic In the Park

Bring the magic to you with Sedgie the Hedgie and Magic Nate. Grab your blanket and enjoy an evening full of magic in the park with Erica Carlson Entertainment and more. Strolling magic and balloon twisting will be provided.

Parent Recharge: Back to School Edition

Cost: $10 for plant project

A big hoorah for parents after the kids go back to school. Splash in the park and enjoy the DORA while not wrangling kids or listening to crying, fighting, and begging for snacks! Make a succulent planter and enjoy specials from Downtown Hilliard businesses.
