City Adds Starrett to Role in Community Development Department

The City of Hilliard is pleased to announce the addition of Nicole Starrett as the new Administrative Assistant in the Community Development Department.

Starrett brings more than 20 years of experience in office management, administrative support, and customer service to the role. A lifelong Hilliard resident, Starrett was a member of the first graduating class of Hilliard Darby High School. She went on to earn her bachelors degree in English Literature from Capital University.

Most recently, Starrett served as Media Clerk for the Upper Arlington School District in the library. She also worked as Membership Director for Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard for 15 years.

Starrett grew up in Hilliard and said she’s always wanted to work for her hometown government.

“I’m most excited to be at the forefront of the City’s development and have the opportunity to be hands-on to all that’s happening here,” Starrett said. “I’ve lived here all my life, and I’m thrilled to work with a bunch of great people and help out in any way that I can.”

In Community Development, Starrett will help meet the needs in the divisions of Building Standards, Engineering, Planning, and Transportation and Mobility. She will serve was the Clerk for the Board of Zoning Appeals, in addition to aiding residents with permits and performing various other responsibilities.

“It’s been amazing to watch Hilliard grow the way it has in recent years and now I get to be part of that,” Starrett said. “I couldn’t be happier to work for my hometown and help Hilliard continue to become a more interconnected City.”

Starrett lives in Hilliard with her husband, James, and two boys, Brody and Nicholas.
