Andrew Wilson has joined the City’s Information Technology and Geographic Information System teams as a GIS Administrator.
He will be tasked with mapping of the City and setting up infrastructure to support the needs of various departments.
“I love GIS because you can map the past, present and the future,” Wilson said. “It helps with public spending, planning, and problem-solving by using data to analyze conditions.”
Wilson comes to Hilliard with nearly 16 years of experience as a Technical Assistant for the City of Oxford, where he also worked on GIS projects and project proposals. He received a bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio in Geography and Urban Planning, and a Master of Public of Administration from Kent State University.
Wilson said he’s always had a good sense of direction and developed a love for maps at an early age. After growing up and working in the Cincinnati area, he’s excited for his move to Central Ohio.
“I’m thrilled to be here in Hilliard,” Wilson said. “I’m excited to be more focused in my career and be able to concentrate more on GIS and use it to its full potential. Hilliard is such a fast-growing community and I can’t wait to help support the continued modernization of the City.”
