The City of Hilliard has hired Ben Muether as the newest member of the Community Development department, where he’ll serve as an Engineering Technician.
In his new role, Muether will work with the Engineering Division to review plot/grading plans for single family lots, review permits for all activity taking place in city street rights-of-way, conduct grading inspections for new homes, and conduct follow-up inspections for restoration of disturbed areas in the rights-of-way. He will also provide technical support for various development and capital projects being constructed throughout the city.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to see projects through from start to finish,” Muether said. “For me, it’s all about making a difference in the community and providing value to the public.”
Muether brings valuable experience from the Franklin County Engineers Office, where he’s served as a drainage technician, mapping technician, and equipment operator over the past 13 years. Muether is quite familiar with Hilliard. He was born and raised here and is a 2008 graduate of Hilliard Darby High School.
“It’s been neat to watch Hilliard grow over the years,” Muether said. “This has always been a great place to develop relationships and I’m looking forward to interacting with members of the public in this role.”
Muether currently lives in Delaware and is an avid golfer and skier. He also enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams, including Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns, and the Columbus Jackets.
