City Council recently approved the 2023 Street Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program (SMRP) to ensure Hilliard’s roadways are kept in the best possible condition.
The City conducted its annual evaluation of streets and identified then prioritized those most needing repair and maintenance. SMRP is an annual Capital Improvement Project that consists of maintaining and improving the roadway for the safety of the traveling public. The Street Maintenance & Rehabilitation Program runs from late spring until late fall. Projects include resurfacing of various arterial and residential streets, pavement maintenance, sidewalk and curb ramp reconstruction, spot curb repairs, trail maintenance, and crack sealing.
The City is responsible for approximately 139 miles of roadway to maintain within Hilliard. The cost of this year’s program is around $2.3 million, and the City is also participating in ODOT’s Cooperative Purchasing Program.
