Council Seeking Applicants for Environmental Sustainability Commission

Hilliard City Council seeks to fill two vacant seats on the city’s Environmental Sustainability Commission. One is a two-year term (expiring two years from the date of appointment) and the other is a partial term with a term ending Oct. 26, 2024.

Candidates shall be residents of the City of Hilliard and/or the Hilliard City School District and qualified by experience and/or training in matters related to conservation such as: education, energy, civil construction/engineering, green building, landscape design, environmental engineering, transit, consulting, law, recycling/solid waste, air and water quality, and environmental health.

Generally, the purpose of the ESC is to advise City Council, the City Manager, and City Staff on the following mission: “The Environmental Sustainability Commission shall review existing green policies and advise City Council, the City Manager, and City officials in the initiation and/or development of programs that will create or enhance sustainable practices within our community.”

The ESC meets at 5:45 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Municipal Building, 3800 Municipal Way, Hilliard. Meetings may also be held virtually, as needed.

Candidates interested in applying for a vacant seat shall submit a letter of interest and resume to Kristen Hosni, Chair of the ESC, by the close of business on May 10, at councilclerk1@hilliardohio.gov.
