Hilliard Development Corporation has received the Auditor of State Award for receiving a clean audit from the Offices of Ohio Auditor Keith Faber.
The Hilliard Development Corporation (HDC) is the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) of the City of Hilliard. As the designated economic development agency of the City of Hilliard, it has the authority to apply for and administer grants, purchase and sell real property and create programs for small business. The HDC is a non-profit corporation subject to Ohio Sunshine laws and public records.
The Auditor of State’s office audits nearly 6,000 entities. Approximately 10% of those entities that are audited are eligible for this award, which is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a “clean” financial audit that includes being filed with the Auditor of State’s office by the statutory due date, without extension, via the Hinkle System, and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
HDC’s audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Uniform Guidance (Single Audit) findings, or questioned costs.
This award represents the hard work of all the Development Corporation’s employees and board members who strive each day to achieve accounting excellence.
