HPD Movember Challenge raises $3,500 for cancer research

Officers showing their beards

Hilliard police officers put away their razors for a good cause at the end of 2021. The Division was among several central Ohio law enforcement agencies participating in the Movember Challenge.

In exchange for a $100 donation each month, male officers could grow a beard, goatee or moustache and female officers could paint their fingernails any color.

In total, the Division raised more than $3,500 for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centerโ€™s Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

โ€œThe fight against cancer has hit close to home for many of us,โ€ said Officer Brandon Long, who organizes the effort on behalf of HPD. โ€œMorale was definitely high for this yearโ€™s two-month challenge.โ€

Since the start of this fundraiser, nearly $85,000 has been raised by the law enforcement agencies.
