Looking for a Safe Place to Swap?

This week the Hilliard Division of Police announced its newly-created Safe Exchange Zone to the public. The zone serves as a space where residents can conduct online and private transactions.

A parking spot is reserved for a Safe Exchange Zone in the front lot of the police station, located at 5171 Northwest Parkway. The zone is under video surveillance 24 hours a day and available every day year-round.

When conducting private transactions, police recommend telling a friend where you’re going, using caution to avoid being a victim of scam, and making the deal during daylight hours.

If someone isn’t willing to come to the police station, it may be a sign the transaction isn’t legitimate.

The Safe Exchange Zone is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents are encouraged to make their exchanges in a timely manner to make the spot available for others wishing to use it.
