Next on the Road to Recreation: the start of construction! Builders have begun clearing the land along Scioto Darby Road that will house the future Recreation and Wellness Center.
McCarthy Consulting, LLC is the construction lead on the project that will include a new 105,000-square-foot community center and more athletic fields.
“We aren’t moving dirt just yet, but we are on site and activities are occurring in preparation for the actual start of construction,” said President of McCarthy Consulting, LLC Don McCarthy.
Those visiting Municipal Park or driving along Scioto Darby Road may notice large machinery, tree removal, and new project fencing at the site.
Hilliard drivers should not experience traffic disruptions during this phase of the building process.
The entire community is encouraged to attend the April 14 groundbreaking and touch-a-truck event to learn more about the project, see the site of the future Recreation and Wellness Center, and explore the construction equipment building it.
The Recreation and Wellness Center is expected to be completed in 2025.
