New Amenities Coming to Hilliard East Aquatic Center in 2019

East pool bathhouse construction

Those who visit the Hilliard East Aquatic Center this summer will see a new bathhouse that includes a family restroom and shaded seating.

For the past several months parts of the Hilliard East Aquatic Center have been under construction while crews demolished the 55-year-old bathhouse to make room for a new, multi-functional pool building.

The new building will not only serve as a bathhouse, but also as the pool’s front office, lifeguard lounge, family restroom, shaded seating area, and food and beverage space.

In 2018 the pool underwent the first phase of renovations, which consisted of many pool-specific improvements that included a complete repair of the main pool floor, a zero-depth entry, splash pad, new filtration system and 14-foot water slide.

The Hilliard East Aquatic Center pool improvements are part of the Comprehensive Parks and Public Spaces Master Plan, which was developed along with resident feedback through a series of public meetings and surveys.

Construction is expected to be complete by Memorial Day weekend, just in time for opening day at the pool.
